The Nuffield Foundation has the aim ‘to improve the social and economic well-being of individuals, families, and communities within the UK’. The ‘Arthritis + Farmers’ study has been funded by the Nuffield Foundation through their Oliver Bird fund which supports projects that seek to ‘improve the social and economic well-being of people living with musculoskeletal conditions’.

Through the Nuffield Foundation, the project is also supported by Arthritis UK. Arthritis UK aims to make the lives of people with arthritis easier through treatment and support. The organisation supports research, delivers services and campaigns on issues that affect people with arthritis.
